Impressions
Nestled in the heart of Lisbon, my stay at the hotel felt like a leisurely waltz through Portugal’s melodious past, accompanied by the whispers of ancient stones and the vibrant pulse of modern life. Just a stone’s throw from Rossio Square, a beautiful mosaic of colors and laughter, I felt the warmth of the city embracing me with open arms. The square, with its serpentine cobblestones, is a vibrant tapestry that weaves together the lives of locals and travelers. The charming street performers and lively cafés beckoned me to unwind and sip on bica as I admired the architectural symphony unfolding around me. With the illustrious National Museum of Ancient Art nestled a mere 2.5 kilometers away, I found myself captivated by the visible history of Portugal's rich heritage—each painting a story, every sculpture casting its silent echo through time.
A pilgrimage to the echoes of the past led me to the magnificent Castle of São Jorge, majestically perched above the city like a guardian from tales of yore. The panoramic views from its ramparts left me breathless, highlighting the golden glimmers of the Tagus River as it sang softly to the horizon. En route, I marveled at the Palace of the Chafariz d'El Rei, and paused at the Miradouro São Pedro de Alcântara, where the sunset painted the sky with whispers of orange and blush. Less than a kilometer from our sanctuary, the Bairro Alto fervently reminded me that the soul of Lisbon does not rest, throbbing with laughter and music through the lively night. Each visit to nearby churches and plazas—like the Igreja do Menino Deus and the Church of São Roque—felt like stepping deeper into a cherished storybook. The hotel was not just a refuge; it was a portal, allowing me to dance between the ages, savoring the delicious blend of history, culture, and vibrant life that is uniquely Lisbon.
